Event Support Analyst

Serves as the primary onsite client events representative in charge of set up, maintenance, support, and tear down of all application and hardware technologies. Responsible for the overall event technology success which includes but is not limited to; evaluating the event scope to acquire and coordinate all technology needs, set up of equipment, testing software functionality, network, and telephone connectivity. Providing technical leadership at events handling any concerns with the urgency and ability needed to deliver resolutions in an efficient, calm and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Serves as the primary technology contact/expert for ALSAC Events. Performs job functions in various environments under various lighting and climate control tolerances.
  2. Ensures all technology/connectivity (portable devices, mobile, network, printer, modems etc.) are efficiently configured, installed, integrated and maintained.
  3. Provides on-going operational support for all Event-supporting equipment and applications.
  4. Monitors, troubleshoots and tunes performance for all Event-supporting equipment and applications.
  5. Interacts and negotiates with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to resolve technical problems.
  6. Configures networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  7. Exhibits professionalism at all times especially when interacting with donors, vendors and event staff.
  8. May advise management regarding overall event satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for supporting improvements.
  9. Assist and/or Instructs event host on operation of equipment as needed.
  10. Responsible for conducting routine preventative maintenance according to established guidelines and schedules. Assists with locating and replacing defective equipment and or tools.
  11. Work closely with the Events Support Manager to ensure that events technology installations are scheduled and completed to exceed customer expectations.
  12. Assist volunteers or analysts in troubleshooting equipment and installation issues over the phone.
  13. May be on-call to assist with event set-up/support during off-business hours.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
  2. Trains, mentors and supports members of the support group.
  3. Performs job duties as assigned as part of ALSACs Business Continuity Management Program, including annual maintenance and testing of business continuity, disaster recovery and emergency response plans.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge

  • general knowledge of computers and network infrastructures; very strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • understands complex verbal and written instructions;
  • must be well organized and systematic in work processes, possess excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with groups and in the conduct of meetings.
  • Knowledge ordinarily acquired through a Bachelor's degree and 1 to 4 years' experience combining technical, analytical and functional experience.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of all Windows Operating Systems as well as all Apple iOS operating systems.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of telephony, wired and wireless networks, and the ability to install, configure and support that technology.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to work outside or normal working hours including nights and weekends.
  • Must travel up to 80% of the time. (essential job functions - 1-13)

  • Requires a relatively high degree of concentration and attention intermittently to perform program analysis and recognize trends approximately 90% of time;
  • periods of mental effort and concentration followed by other aspects of job with lesser concentration and attention requirements. (essential job functions - 1-13)

  • Requires walking/standing approximately 50%, sitting approximately 50%, and lifting up to 50 lbs. approximately 1% of time;

Manual Dexterity

  • Requires use of hands, arms and feet for occasional lifting;
  • use of hands and arms to operate computer, printer, telephone, other general office equipment, and to record written information;
