Cook Systems is proud to be a part of two unique opportunities to provide more opportunities for young engineers and coders to grow and learn this spring.

First, Cook had the honor of sponsoring a team of students competing in the First Lego League, Jr. competition at the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) 44th Annual Convention March 21-25, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Penn. Coached by members of the NSBE Memphis chapter — including our own Yolanda Thompson, the team of bright future engineers took home the Presentation Award for their submission! All of the students who participated are already involved in the organization as members of the NSBE Jr. Memphis chapter. Congratulations to all the participants and coaches who attended!

Cook is also sponsoring a fun event April 21, 2018 benefitting Code Crew, an organization dedicated to bringing computer science to underrepresented youth in the Memphis area. It’s dubbed the Revenge of the Nerds Rooftop Smart Party and features music, food and adult beverages for everyone (nerd-wear is encouraged, of course). It promises to be a great time, and all funds raised will support Code Crew — our next generation of developers and engineers.
